Affectionately known as "the bird lady", Nancy Cooper has been handling birds for many
years. Prior to starting Creature Comforts, Nancy worked for several
years at Veterinary Practice in Virginia Beach (one of the few in the
area specializing in bird handling and healing).
For over 10 years, Nancy has traveled with her amazing birds throughout Hampton Roads
and performed for small and large audiences in pre-schools, day care centers, elementary schools,
and assisted living facilities.
"I can't imagine doing anything else," says Nancy. "I love to see the wonderment on a child's
face when they see my birds perform. And, it is such a thrill to interact with elderly people
who share in my enthusiasm for animals. I have performed for a few nursing home
residents who ceased communicating with anyone. After seeing my show, they spoke again
for the first time in months. That just warms my heart." |
